Snowballing at the bottom of the Hill


There's not a lot of hill left but there's still a ball to roll.

This week we've introduced some tweaks to the difficulty system. The old design lending itself to get tedious after some time while also becoming unfairly difficult for the player. Especially in later levels. The new system replaces throwing more enemies at the player with throwing tougher and more varied enemies at the player. It should keep the numbers of enemies manageable and engaging without making things ridiculously painful should the player be on their second or third attempt on the same run.  With that working in tandem with our re-spawning system, we're happy to say that we're able to just sit back and polish off the bits of our game that we've been putting off up until now.  Everything should fall into place for our Gold release in the coming weeks!

In our latest build, version 0.86, one of the first things you'll probably notice is the new look of the Jackal, Bull and Hawk secondary attacks! After that might be the beautiful portraits to accompany the dialogue boxes. We've also swapped out the old placeholder enemy attack timer with a fancy looking hourglass that spins with joy as your enemies attack. We've tweaked the combat a bit further as well, getting things closer to our ideal experience. The Gold build of the game should be ready to go live shortly before the 9th of May and we hope you're as excited for it as we are. The story of Deity's Form will not be ending there though. We intend to keep working on the game afterwards until it is ready for a steam release!
